Research Interests

Flora of Thai-Malay Peninsular Research Unit:
The research unit had been focusing on the flora and plant communities, which dominate the Peninsular Thailand continuing into the Malay Peninsula. The research questions focus on various aspects including a survey of plant biodiversity in particular areas, taxonomic revisions of particular plant taxa in Peninsular Thailand and the Malesian Region, plant population studies as well as plant community structure and analysis.

Present research activities:
1.   Plant Ecological coexistence with Nature and activities of humans in the Coastal Zone of Penninsular Thailand (Funding by Yokohama National University, Japan). (Co- research with Prof. Kunio Suzuki, the Dean of Graduate school for Information and Environmental Science, Yokohama National University, Japan).
2.   A Taxonomic Revision of the Genus Argostemma Wall. (Rubiaceae) in SE-Asia.
3.   The Revision of the subfamily Chloridoideae (Poaceae), Tribe Cynodonteae, genera Bouteloua; Chloris; Cynodon; Enteropogon and Eustachys in Thailand.
4.   Plant communities on the coastal sandbars in Peninsular Thailand.
5.   Native Orchids of the Peninsular Thailand.
